Project Wildlife volunteers were able to reach the bird and rescue it on Friday. It had been recovering at an animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Temecula.
The falcon, apparently used as a game bird, had tethers on its legs that got snagged on the tree. For days, it flailed, trapped in the branches.
The owner of the bird is an 88-year-old master falconer from Dana Point, who did not want to be identified. He came and collected the falcon on Tuesday.
