The crash happened at Rice Avenue and Camino Del Sol at 6:29 a.m. Police say the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Rice Avenue approaching Camino Del Sol, and a white van was traveling southbound on Rice Avenue. Witnesses told police that the van made a left turn, hitting the motorcyclist.
A second vehicle, a dark-colored compact vehicle, then struck the motorcyclist as he was lying in the roadway.
Both the driver of the white van and the driver of the second vehicle fled after the collision.
The motorcycle driver, identified as Thomas James Hayzlett Jr., was hospitalized with severe injuries. He is in stable condition, according to police.
Officers blocked off the area to search for the drivers. No one has been arrested.
