A woman was killed after crashing her car into a parked vehicle in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles Sunday morning.

Police say the woman was speeding southbound on Western Avenue when she lost control of her Mercedes-Benz SUV and hit the parked vehicle around 5 a.m.

The vehicle she hit traveled 100-feet into a light pole located at the entrance of a McDonald's restaurant.

The woman's luxury SUV then overturned onto the sidewalk, before resting against a tree.

Responding officers say the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials say she may have been under the influence. She was also said to be traveling near 100 mph.

The westbound 10 Freeway off-ramp at Western Avenue was closed following the incident.

A hit-and-run left a 45-year-old man dead near the Western Avenue offramp on the westbound 10 Freeway around 6:20 a.m. Sunday. A description of the hit-and-run suspect or car was not immediately available.
