Detailed information regarding his arrest was not released, but the Ventura County Star reported Sunday that the 49-year-old was arrested by police in El Segundo.
Sojka posted $5,000 bail and was released eight hours following his arrest. He is due to appear in court on June 17.
The councilman was appointed to the Simi Valley City Council on Nov. 30, 1998. His lawyer says his conduct was not related to his work as an elected official.
