GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Gardena that left a pedestrian dead.
It happened around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday on Rosecrans Avenue, just west of Broadway.
CHP investigators believe the pedestrian, described as a man around age 60, was walking in westbound lanes of Rosecrans when he was struck by a vehicle.
The driver fled the scene.
When first responders arrived, they pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
No description was available of a suspect or vehicle.
The name of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
