RIVERSIDE (KABC) -- A Riverside toddler who was initially diagnosed with measles does not have measles, according to the child's mother.
Two-year-old Everleigh Mercado was taken to the ER in Loma Linda by her mother Sandra Mercado when the toddler started feeling sick.
Mercado said she initially thought it was a cold. However, at the hospital, doctors diagnosed the toddler with measles.
"The doctors said 'yes, that's measles,'" Mercado explained. "A rash started on her chest and then on her back, and it just kept going down from her neck all the way. Now it's like mid-spine."
The other symptoms included lack of appetite, pain in the mouth and discomfort.

Mercado said a test given by Riverside County Public Health officials came back negative for measles.
Riverside County's Department of Public Health said they have no confirmed or suspected measles cases at this time.
Everleigh still has rash and other symptoms. Mercado said she still doesn't know what is causing the symptoms.
Mercado said Everleigh and the whole household is vaccinated against the measles.
