Danny Trejo responds to online death hoax: 'I am very much alive'

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Machete" star Danny Trejo set the record straight Sunday after a wave of rumors began spreading on social media, claiming he's dead.

"Thank you all for your concern but I am very much alive," he wrote on Instagram. "Someone is spreading fake news."

It's unclear where exactly the report originated.

Many of Trejo's fans commented on the post, saying statements like, "We love you, Danny Trejo!" and "I'm so happy you're alive."
