WEST HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two elderly people - a man and his caregiver - were injured in a house fire in West Hills Tuesday morning.
The blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of Capistrano Avenue, fire officials said.
Authorities said a man and a woman were injured and taken to an area hospital. The man is in his 80s and his caregiver is in her 70s, officials said.
They were both transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
The caregiver's son was also in the home at the time of the fire and made it out safely.
Investigators say the fire began in the middle of the home and spread out toward the bedroom. The cause remains under investigation.
