LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- A Lancaster man accused of kidnapping the 18-month-old daughter of one of his alleged prostitutes appeared in court Tuesday to answer to a long list of felony counts.
Brandon Wynn, 33, faces charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, child abuse and sexual assault. He's also accused of forcing women into prostitution.
On July 18, an Amber Alert was issued after Wynn allegedly kidnapped an 18-month-old child from a motel room in Lancaster he shared with the baby's mother. Detectives found the girl abandoned in a shed in a remote area of Palmdale. They found and arrested Wynn soon after.
An advocate for the victim and her family was also in court Tuesday for Wynn's first appearance before a judge.
"It's just that you are there for them to (help them) know that there is somebody out there listening to them and being there for them on a personal level," said Pamela Jones, a victim's advocate.
The baby's mother told investigators Wynn had forced her into a life of prostitution, beat her and sexually assaulted her before kidnapping her daughter.
On Tuesday, Wynn's arraignment was postponed. If convicted, he faces the rest of his life in prison. His bail was set at $3 million.
