ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspect in a stolen vehicle was hospitalized after crashing while fleeing Anaheim police Friday morning.
Undercover officers working a proactive enforcement project ran the suspect's license plate at about 11:45 a.m. and discovered the vehicle was stolen.
When they tried to pull the suspect over, he led police on a short pursuit which ended when the suspect crashed on Walnut Street and Katella Avenue at the southwest corner of Disneyland property.
The suspect's vehicle split in half, and he was ejected from the car. As responding paramedics began treating him, he came to and became combative with those trying to assist him, Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.
The suspect was arrested. He was listed in critical but stable condition.
