Titanic ticket goes up for auction in England

The last American Titanic survivor died in 2006
LONDON The collection being sold on Saturday also includes a pocket watch that reportedly stopped at the exact moment the ship sank in April 1912.

The items belonged to the last American survivor of the disaster, Lillian Asplund. She died in 2006 at the age of 99.

Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge says there has been tremendous international interest in the collection with buyers from the U.S., France and China booking telephone bidding lines.

Asplund was 5 when the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank during its maiden voyage from England to New York. Her father and three siblings were among the 1,500 people who died.
