No cops fired for '07 May Day melee

LOS ANGELES More than 200 demonstrators and journalists reported injuries.

LAPD chief William Bratton sought to fire four officers. However, the stiffest punishment the disciplinary board handed down was a 20-day suspension.

Bratton does not have the authority to remove an officer and can only send them to the three-person disciplinary panel for punishment.
