State parks may close from budget cuts

LOS ANGELES A local environmental group is making a public plea to Gov. Schwarzenegger to keep them open.

The governor has recommended eliminating $70 million in state park funding as part of his plan to close the state budget deficit.

Southland parks including Leo Carrillo State Park and Will Rogers State Historic Park could be shut down in the process.
