Some trails re-open after Station Fire

LOS ANGELES Officials signed an order Wednesday lifting restrictions from the /*U.S. Forest Service*/ that all parts of the forest be closed.

Portions of the forest which are now open to the public include Henniger Flats, Echo Mountain, Little Rock Dam, open space east of Interstate 5 and most eastern parts of the /*San Gabriel Mountains*/.

Still, 450 square miles of the San Gabriel mountain range remain off-limits until next September, unless a new order lifting those restrictions is signed.

Meantime, the /*Station Fire*/ is 98 percent contained and has burned more than 160,000 acres. It broke out on Aug. 26 and ended up being one of the largest wildfires in Southern California history.
