Man robs boutique, shocks clerk w/ stun gun

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES The video is a bit grainy, but police are hoping someone will recognize the man who robbed a boutique in the fashion district in downtown Los Angeles.

He shows the clerk a handgun and proceeds to take hundreds of dollars in cash out of the register.

"She completely complies, opens the till, lets him take all the cash out and then closes the drawer. He comes up to the girl then and takes a Taser or stun gun out of his pocket and strikes her at least two times with the stun gun to intimidate her," said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

The suspect ordered the clerk to the back of the store, and she feared he was going to assault her, Vernon said. Instead, the suspect turned around and left. Police believe the suspect might live within walking distant of where the crime occurred.

The suspect is described as a male in his late 50s or early 60s.

Anyone with information is urged to call the LAPD at (877) 527-3247.
