'Nine,' 'Avatar' hit the big screen

Entertainment reporter George Pennacchio has a rundown of what new movies are on the big screen this weekend."Did You Hear About the Morgans?" stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant as an unhappily married city-slicker couple who witness a mob hit.

The two are forced to hide out and find their lives turned upside down when they're relocated to a tiny town in Wyoming.

The musical "Nine" opens in limited release. Director Rob Marshall has an all star cast, led by Daniel Day Lewis, singing and dancing their way through a musical version of Federico Fellini's classic film,"8 1/2."

Also in limited release is the movie, "The Young Victoria."

Emily Blunt has earned Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations for her role as the young Queen Victoria. The film focuses on her rise to the crown, and the first, often turbulent years of her reign.

Rupert Friend co-stars as Prince Albert, the royal suitor who won her heart.

Another awards-nomination favorite also opened this week.

Jeff Bridges stars in "Crazy Heart", playing a down and out music veteran named Bad Blake. He's a guy who's still trying to make a go of his career, but can only find work performing in dive bars and bowling alleys.

Blake's boozy world takes an unexpected turn when he meets and falls for a small-town journalist, and single mom, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

And finally, the highly-anticipated "Avatar."

Director James Cameron's 3-D, live action, animation and effects-filled spectacular takes you to the distant planet of Pandora. Humans have arrived and it becomes a collision of cultures and in the middle of it all, there's a love story.
