Suspect with hammer tries to kidnap woman

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES Authorities said the kidnap attempt was on Jan. 29 at about 11:30 p.m. near Temple Street and Fremont Avenue. Police said the woman was able to get away.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 35 to 40 years old, with a medium build. He had a mustache and was wearing a black knit cap.

The suspect jumped into a getaway car, described as a 1985 to 1990s four-door Toyota with gray primer. The license plate starts with 2C.
