Author Michele Howe says, "Five years ago, I had to have shoulder surgery and realized life doesn't stop when you have to try and recover."
Recovery and managing her job and family at the same time inspired Howe to write her latest book, "Burdens Do a Body Good." She teamed up with Dr. Christopher Foetisch to offer a spiritual and physical plan for dealing with adversity.
Howe says, "A burden can be sending your kid off to college. It can be a real change of life. If you're a divorced or single mom, your whole life changes."
The new book comes out in April and is already available for pre-order. It is Howe's tenth book and she says this one is different than her other work.
She says from selling a house to a medical crisis or even dealing with bad weather can be overwhelming enough. But with her book, you can come through them a better person. Howe says, "We never grow strong in the high times of life. We grow deep when we're suffering."
Howe hopes her tips can help readers make the best of difficult times.
