Lake Elsinore is southern California's largest freshwater lake with several boat launches. It is also home to the region's only high-speed zone. It attracts all kinds of vessels including fishing boats, speed boats, kayaks and Jet Skis.
Officials say fishing at the lake is getting better thanks to the efforts of the City of Lake Elsinore and the Lake Elsinore & San Jacinto Watersheds Authority. They have been working to improve fish population diversity and lake quality.
Anglers can catch largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish and other varieties at the lake. Anyone 16 or over must have a valid California State fishing license to fish in the lake.
