Rosemead drug bust nets more than $1 M of pot

ROSEMEAD, Calif. Alejandro Valencia, 25, Miguel Vasquez, 37, Angelica Vasquez, 20, and Manuel Vasquez, 29, were all arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession and conspiracy to sell and transport marijuana.

On Tuesday afternoon, an anonymous caller reported several people moving something from a van into a home on the 9700 block of Loftus Drive. When deputies arrived, they saw four people running from the van which was parked in the driveway. Authorities say they found 2,140 pounds of marijuana valued at $1.5 million inside the van.

The three men and the woman were taken into custody. Their bail was set at $100,000 each.
