Teen pilot lands plane on football field

VENTURA, Calif. The incident happened just before 6 p.m. Authorities say the 18-year-old pilot reported engine problems after taking off from Santa Paula Airport.

He ended up landing the plane on the field at Balboa Middle School. There were children on the field at the time. Amazingly, no one was hurt.

The plane suffered some damage to the landing gear, left wing and front propeller.
