The department said the fire was about an eight-acre large and was moving downhill.
Firefighters had the fire doused and were on scene Monday afternoon looking for hot spots. Water-dropping helicopters assisted in extinguishing the fire.
The right lane of the northbound 14 was closed. At 4:45 p.m., there was an approximate 1-mile freeway traffic backup.
