Who is Elias Abuelazam?

How long had he been living and working in Flint?
FLINT Police say Abuelazam had been living in Flint since May in a house right next to his uncle.

The suspect lived inside a home on Flint's east side. A realtor say it was a foreclosed home purchased by his uncle who lives right next door for $25,000.

A mother of three who lives nearby says she remembers the suspect's Chevy Blazer.

That Blazer was taken to an impound lot where it has been locked up beyond view. Meanwhile, some neighbors say they are tiring of the constant stream of cars who pass by the homes.

The homes are just two blocks from the scene of where one of the victims was stabbed. A small memorial has been set up to remember the victim: 31 year old David Motley.

The suspect is Arab-American, born in Israel but had been living in the United States with a green card.

The head of an Arab-American group in Flint has strong words for the alleged serial stabber.

The executive director of the Arab American Heritage Council is extending her condolences to the families of the victims of the alleged serial stabber.

She says the person who did it is obviously sick.

Mona Sahouri, the head of the Arab American Council says although the suspect is of Arabic descent, he doesn't represent the Arab community.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says it appears the suspect targeted African Americans.

Sahouri is hopeful that won't lead to retaliation by blacks against Arabs. She says some are downplaying the race issue.

Sahouri says the suspect was born in Israel.

Sahouri says while there's been focus on his Arab-Christian heritage, it shouldn't mater where he's from or what his religion is. She strongly condemns what she calls a cowardly act of violence.
