L.A. County discloses employee salaries

LOS ANGELES It had balked at doing so in the wake of the salary scandal in nearby Bell over what officials called "personal safety reasons."

But after giving employees the chance to object, the numbers were made public Tuesday.

Among the interesting findings:

• There were 199 county employees who made at least $250,000 in 2009.
• The four top earners in the county were all doctors.
• The highest paid person was a physician at /*Harbor-UCLA Medical Center*/ who took home more than $430,00 in total earnings.
• None of the five county supervisors even made the top earner list. The supervisors all make about $179,000 per year.
