2 men killed in Commerce Amtrak accident

COMMERCE, Calif. The incident happened near the 6500 block of 26th Street about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

According to authorities, the conductor of the train saw three to four men on the bridge and tried to brake, but hit two of them.

The possible third and fourth persons are unaccounted for.

It's not known why the men were on the overpass.

Authorities said the train had at least 73 passengers aboard and was heading to Union Station in Los Angeles from San Diego.

No passengers or crew members were hurt.
