The /*shooting*/ was reported about 11:00 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Vince Street.
Responding officers found the victim, William Spear of Ventura, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Ventura County Medical center, where he died from his injury.
Upon investigation, Ventura police detectives found that the suspect lived near the crime scene. They obtained a search warrant for the suspect's home and found evidence connecting him to the crime.
Frank Sotello was arrested and booked for murder. He was also charged for felon in possession of a firearm.
