Calif. 'first dog' seen walking w/ Gov. Brown

February 16, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
California's new "first dog," a Pembrose Welsh Corgi named Sutter, has been seen walking around the Capitol with Gov. Jerry Brown since he took office.

He used to belong to Brown's sister, and the governor often told people Sutter was "trying out" for the "first dog" job. This week, Brown made it official - Sutter's here to stay.

Unlike those before him, Sutter already has his own Twitter page. Among his postings, Sutter Tweeted, "WOL," which probably means "woofing out loud."
