Research: Walnuts beat other nuts in heart health

LOS ANGELES

A scientist from the University of Scranton said walnuts have more /*antioxidants*/ and better quality antioxidants than other nuts.

Antioxidants protect cells against damage caused by free radicals. That damage can play a factor in /*heart disease*/ and other health problems.

Though the walnut industry funded two of the researcher's studies, he says the industry did not have a say in the study.
