Wind blamed in San Diego sailboat accident

SAN DIEGO

The sailing charity that sponsored the trip for special needs children and their families says a gust of wind hit the boat just before it capsized late Sunday.

The two men killed have been identified as the uncle and grandfather of an 11-year-old autistic boy on the trip. Chao Chen, 73, and his son, Jun Chen, 48, of San Diego were declared dead at the scene after the 26-foot sailboat flipped over.

A woman remains in intensive care for hypothermia.
