Frank McCourt talks about team seizure, apologizes to fans

LOS ANGELES

"The one thing I do want to say to the fans is that I'm sorry - sorry that my mess over the last 18 months spilled over and affected their experience," McCourt told Eyewitness News reporter Rob Fukuzaki before the Dodgers faced off against the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

"I'm sorry about some of the life style decisions I made, and some fans think that I don't want to put a winner on the field out here, because I do want a winner for this community," McCourt said.

Attorneys for McCourt have filed notice to appeal the ruling that determined the Dodgers are jointly owned by him and his ex-wife, Jamie McCourt.

In December, a judge threw out an agreement the couple signed after buying the Dodgers in 2004.

The couple has been locked in a bitter court battle since 2009.
