Dutton, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), announced Tuesday that Hudson's book will come out in January. The memoir is currently untitled.
The 29-year-old joined Weight Watchers in March 2010 and has since dropped down to a size 6.
Hudson was a contestant on Season 3 of "American Idol." She went on to star in the 2006 film "Dreamgirls," for which she won an Oscar for best supporting actress. Her latest album, "I Remember Me," came out this year.
