LOS ANGELES

The move comes as fast-food chains are being pressured to stop using toys to market children's meals that are high in calories, sugar, fat and salt.

Jack in the Box now offers sliced apples as an alternative to French fries.

The company's recent decision is winning praise from organizations and advocates critical of the fast-food industry.
