Toddler dies after falling out of moving vehicle in Colton

COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A toddler died Thursday evening after falling from a moving vehicle in Colton, according to police.

The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of South Mount Vernon Avenue and Centerpointe Drive.

Police said that when officers arrived, they learned a 1-year-old boy had fallen from a moving vehicle. The child was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The Colton Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team, along with its detective division, is investigating the incident.
