'Transformers' tops all-time July 4 weekend

The 'Transformers' sequel crushed records and the competition at the weekend box office.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" pulled in 97.4 million since Friday, making it the biggest Fourth of July weekend movie ever.

The Paramount film has already earned $162 million domestically since opening Tuesday night. It's made another $210 million overseas,

"Cars 2" finished in second place with $25.1 million.

Final numbers for the long holiday weekend will be released Tuesday.
