The incident happened on the 1800 block of West Wilshire Boulevard at about 10:40 a.m.
Three people were treated at the scene and released. Six people were transported to the hospital for additional care.
None of the injuries was considered serious.
The articulated Metro bus was heading east on Wilshire Boulevard when it collided with a St. Vincent Medical Center transport van.
The driver was the only person in the van.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
