Defense attorney Brian Steel told a Fulton County magistrate on Friday that the 23-year-old Crittenton had decided to forgo his right and did not attend the session.
Crittenton is accused of killing Julian Jones, a 22-year-old mother of four, during a drive-by shooting in Atlanta last month. Investigators say she was not the intended target.
Crittenton denies any involvement in the shooting.
He was arrested at John Wayne Airport in Orange County and returned to Atlanta last week.
His next hearing is set for Sept. 30.
