The incident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on the 44000 block of Spearman Avenue.
Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said authorities were serving a narcotics search warrant when a 68-year-old man suddenly came out of a bedroom armed with a sword and raised it toward a deputy.
The man was shot multiple times. No deputies were injured.
Three other people inside the home were taken into custody.
