Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said Henry DeRusha began his hike Friday at the Switzer Falls campground near Mount Wilson. His son reported him missing Monday morning.
DeRusha's body was found about 4:30 p.m. between Switzer Falls campground and Bear Canyon Junction.
Recovery of the body was not expected until Tuesday morning because of darkness and rugged terrain.
