Top college basketball pick Shabazz Muhammad chooses UCLA

The Las Vegas-based guard is rated as the No. 1 overall college basketball prospect by Rivals.com and No. 2 by ESPN and Fox Sports only to center Nerlens Noel. Muhammad picked the Bruins over top programs including Kentucky, Duke, Kansas among others. Noel committed to Kentucky.

Muhammad will join several other highly touted recruits in Westwood, including 6-foot-8 point guard Kyle Anderson out of New Jersey and shooting guard Jordan Adams out of Atlanta, GA. Anderson is rated as the No. 5 recruit in the ESPNU Top 100 while Adams checks in at No. 41 overall.

Howland and UCLA still have one more potential signee in Georgia center Tony Parker, who is ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect by ESPNU. Parker is expected to decide between UCLA, Duke, Ohio St., Kansas, Memphis, Georgetown and Georgia later this week.
