Convict nabbed after mistaken release from LA jail

LOS ANGELES

Larry Howard, 21, was returned to Wasco State Prison on Friday. He was in the county facility waiting for a court appearance, when sheriff's officials let him go by mistake on Tuesday despite an active hold in place by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Howard is serving a two-year sentence for first-degree burglary. He is up for parole in November.
