Detectives working the Wilshire area of Los Angeles are trying to track down the owner of vintage currency bills.

Officers recovered the currency dated from the late 1800s and early 1900s as part of a burglary investigation involving window-smash incidents in Melrose Village. Investigators want to return it to its rightful owner.

Some of the money is in the form of bank certificates from the Confederate States of America.

If you think you can help Los Angeles police, you're urged to call detectives at (213) 922-8251 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
