Police arrested Brett Cronin, 23, at the same house where they found the teen's body on Wednesday.
Investigators said the victim spent the night at the home of his 13-year-old friend, where he took the heroin. Cronin is said to be his friend's older brother.
Cronin was booked for investigation of murder. He was held on $1 million bail.
