The MTA says the train was arriving at the station on South Long Beach Avenue when a man walked through the gates and onto the tracks on Friday.
The train couldn't stop in time and the unidentified man was struck and killed. Investigators say all signals and lights were working at the time of the crash.
No one aboard the train was hurt. Passengers were transferred to other trains and the station reopened four hours later.
The incident is under investigation.
