Dame Shirley Bassey to make first Oscar appearance

LOS ANGELES

Bassey's career spans over six decades. She has recorded 44 albums and sold over 135 million records. She has also sold out concert halls around the world. Last June, she was one of a number of artists who performed at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert.

The singer is well known for recording the theme songs for the James Bond films "Goldfinger," "Diamonds are Forever" and "Moonraker."

This year's show will include performances by Adele, Norah Jones and Barbra Streisand. Also, presenters will include the cast of "The Avengers," returning Oscar winners Jean Dujardin, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep, co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Ted, and special appearances including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron.
