JC Penney gets flack over 'Hitler' tea kettle billboard ad in Culver City

May 28, 2013 12:00:00 AM PDT
J.C. Penney has brought down a tea kettle advertisement on a billboard in Culver City after complaints that the image resembled Adolf Hitler.

People said they could see Hitler's hair, mustache, tie and even an outstretched arm making the Nazi salute in the ad for the $40 Michael Graves-designed kettle along the 405 Freeway.

J.C. Penney tweeted that the image was "totally unintentional."
