Dozens of San Diego minors to be charged for 'sexting'

SAN DIEGO, Calif.

Authorities say several teenage girls sent nude photos of themselves to their boyfriends, but then those photos reached friends at seven different schools. The photos are considered child pornography, police said.

At least 30 minors from six high schools and one middle school are involved in the investigation.

"The individuals took pictures of themselves in very compromising positions, exposing various parts of their body," said San Diego Police Lt. Chuck Haye.

Three of the schools involved are reportedly Canyon Crest Academy, Cathedral Catholic High and Carmel Valley Middle School. The schools have not commented on the scandal.
