West Covina woman's prosthetic limbs stolen

WEST COVINA, Calif.

A severe form of bacterial meningitis claimed 30-year-old Karen Crespo's arms and legs two years ago. Over the weekend, her new custom limbs were delivered, but a thief stole the box containing nearly $100,000 worth of prosthetics.

Crespo has posted an open letter on Facebook looking for the suspect.

"Please return my box back," Crespo told Eyewitness News in an interview. "I don't care, I won't press charges, just bring it back. It means so much to me. You can't even use them. You can't even sell them. This is my life."

You can donate to a fund set up for Crespo at helphopelive.org.
