Robert Garza, 37, of Newbury Park, is facing a variety of sexual assault charges involving a minor.
Ventura County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Jason Robarts says Garza had sex with the teen, described as a female athlete, off campus during Spring Break.
"As of right now, the investigation has led us to believe that they had just met during this season, and all the inappropriate conduct has also started this season," Robarts said. "As a matter of fact, we believe actually this month."
Garza posted $100,000 bail Friday night. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
