LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A big rig carrying groceries rolled over on the transition road for the westbound 10 Freeway and the southbound 110 in Los Angeles Thursday morning, snarling the morning commute.
The truck rolled onto its side around 12:45 a.m. near W. Adams Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver was able to escape and was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
Authorities said the truck was coming off the westbound 10 Freeway to the southbound 110 when it overturned. It was unclear if the driver was going too fast or somehow lost control. Both sides of the 10 Freeway near the transition road were closed.
"A transition road is going to affect two very busy highways. Obviously, it's not a good situation when it comes to the morning commute," Sgt. Roberto Gomez said.
Crews headed to the truck to unload any undamaged groceries and place them in another truck. The big rig will then need to be upright before it can be removed. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The investigation was ongoing. All lanes were reopened by around 9:30 a.m.
