LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A $50,000 reward is being offered in the stabbing death of an elderly woman at her home just days before Christmas.
Friends of Toni Yager gathered on Thursday to plead for information that can lead to her killer.
"Dedicated her life to being a nurse and to charity, and to die that way is just despicable," said the victim's friend, John Franklin.
Yager was found dead in her home in the 100 block of North Beachwood Drive on Dec. 22, and six weeks later, it appears police still have very little to go on.
"We cannot conclude if this was a stranger, whether it was an acquaintance; we're looking at all possibilities at this point," said LAPD Lt. John Radtke
Councilman Tom LaBonge sponsored the $50,000 reward for information that can help lead to an arrest.
"It's very important we ask for the public's help here, a reward to get someone to call," LaBonge said. "We must find this person because this person could commit that violent act again."
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department at (213) 382-9470.
